Law firm IBB has advised a leading manufacturer and supplier of fire detection and alarm products on acquisition of international distributor.

IBB’s corporate commercial team has advised Haes Systems, based in West Drayton, on the acquisition of international distributor International Safety Technology (IST). Haes is a leading manufacturer of fire control panels and alarm products and the acquisition of IST will enable Haes to sell those UK-manufactured products in new distribution channels.

The IBB team was led by partner Harriet Jones and included corporate solicitor Charlotte Newlyn, as well as employment partner Richard Devall and real-estate partner Jeff Elphee.

The selling shareholders of Dorset-based IST were advised by Talking Legal Lawyers.

Harriet Jones commented: “We have been working with the Haes group for a few years on a number of exciting projects and know that this deal will be a good addition to the group, marking a key step forward in their international expansion plans. We thoroughly enjoyed working with the Haes group again and look forward to providing commercial legal advice going forward to further assist in the success of the business following this acquisition.”

Jeff Ivey, managing director of Haes Systems, commented: “Harriet and all the IBB team of lawyers provided us with commercially sensible legal advice which enabled us focus on the key commercial point of the acquisition: to expand our team and skillset whilst opening new distribution channels for Haes manufactured products. Harriet and her team were always on hand to answer any queries and provided clear, practical advice throughout this process. We’d like to thank all of the IBB team for their assistance with this acquisition and look forward to working with them in the future.”
