Restaurants are the most improved sector in the South East. According to research from insolvency trade body R3, there has been a 3.4% reduction in the proportion of restaurant businesses with a higher than normal risk of insolvency since July.
The group adds that the forthcoming PSP Southampton Boat Show, due to take place from September 12, could serve up another boost for the food serving sector.
Andrew Watling, chairman of the southern committee of R3 and a director at Quantuma in Southampton, said: “This is positive news for restaurateurs and we could see a further boost for those in and around Southampton throughout September as the PSP Southampton Boat Show brings thousands of visitors to the city.
“It will be important for restaurant business owners to take advantage of this golden opportunity to see them through the traditionally more quiet month of October and into the swinging Christmas party season."
