South East business figures highlighted in New Year Honours List
Prominent members of business communities across the South East were recognised in King Charles' first New Year Honours List.
Achievements across a wide variety of industries were recognised including economics, science and technology, sustainability, space and education.
Notable entries on this year's list include Reading West MP Alok Sharma who was awarded the Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George, which recognises international influence, for his work on COP26.
Oxford Nanopore founder Gordon Sanghera was recognised for his work in growing the gene sequencing firm into one of the country's fastest growing life sciences companies.
Nicholas Vetch, co-founder of the Big Yellow Self Storage Company, was awarded a CBE for his work with The Big Yellow Foundation which provides support to vulnerable members of society including refugees.
