Blake Morgan commercial litigation partner Susie Dryden has been elected by CBI members to join the South East Regional Council.

The CBI is the UK's most effective and influential business organisation, providing a voice for firms at a regional, national and international level to policymakers. Its purpose is to help businesses create a more prosperous society.

CBI regional councillors form a network of more than 500 senior business executives that play a leading role in influencing the UK policy landscape at a devolved, regional and national level. In her new role, Dryden will work with the CBI to shape their messages to the UK Government on a range of issues from fostering innovation to open access to global markets. She joins Blake Morgan corporate partner Rob Cherry who sits on the Welsh Regional Council.

Bruce Potter, chairman at Blake Morgan, commented: "Susie's nomination is a great achievement and reflects her reputation as a key legal adviser to businesses in the region. Her appointment comes at a vital time for the CBI as they push to make the region's voice heard on Brexit and other important issues that impact the business communities we work in."

Malcolm Hyde, CBI regional director for London and South East, said: "We’re delighted Susie has been elected to the council for 2018 and look forward hearing her insight on behalf of Blake Morgan at coming meetings.”

Dryden is an experienced commercial litigator who has advised on a number of cases involving significant and complex litigation or arbitration, including commercial contract, procurement, IT and engineering disputes. She is also an accredited mediator, both acting as mediator and representing parties at mediation. The commercial litigation team at Blake Morgan is recognised by the legal directories as highly respected on the South Coast.
