South Coast: Enter the Solent Deals Awards now
The 2017 Solent Deals Awards is now open for entries - and a big response is expected from the corporate finance community on the South Coast. Dealmakers across the region can nominate themselves or their colleagues for the 13 awards categories up for grabs.
With sponsorship from PwC, Meridian Corporate Finance, HSBC, Moore Blatch, CMA Recruitment Group and Taylor Made Computer Solutions, the Solent Deals Awards gala dinner is at Hilton at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton, on Thursday, June 15.
Nominations close on April 7 and with so much deal activity in the region in the past 15 months, a strong list of entries is expected.
One of the headline deals of the year was the acquisition by Hendy Automotive of Lifestyle Motor Group in June, 2016. The deal placed Hendy in the top 25 dealership groups in the UK and gave it an annual turnover of some £600 million.
Deals in the region in the qualifying year included the sale of Poole-based Deverill to a leading IT services provider, 365itms, based near Reading; and the sale of Chandler's Ford-based Raymond Brown Minerals and Recycling to management, backed by Elysian Capital.
Further deals included the acquisition by Charles Taylor plc of Chichester-based CEGA Group; and the acquisition of Winchester-based ProcessFlows by Konica Minolta.
These are just some examples of the breadth of transactions across the region in the qualifying period.
The awards features three categories for Deal of the Year - small, medium and large. There are also categories for Young Adviser (under 35), CF Team and Adviser, Law Firm, Bank, Private Equity Firm, Due Diligence Team, and Management Team.
