A leading insolvency and restructuring firm has strengthened its presence in Southampton with the opening of a new office and senior appointment.

CVR Global has expanded into Prospect House in Ocean Village in the city and added to its partner team with the appointment of Simon Lowes.

The firm was formed in 2015 following the management buyout of the business recovery division of accountancy firm Chantrey Vellacott, and has moved its office in Southampton from Brunswick Place.

Lowes is a licensed insolvency practitioner with more than 30 years of experience in the insolvency and business recovery sector. He joins Matthew Fox as CVR Global’s second partner based in Southampton.

During his career, Lowes has worked for both national and regional insolvency and recovery firms based on the South Coast, covering all aspects of corporate and personal insolvency.

Fox said: “We’re delighted to have opened the new office and to welcome Simon to the firm. The firm has grown considerably since the launch last year and upgrading to a bespoke office in Ocean Village was a perfect fit for us.

“Simon is a highly experienced insolvency practitioner who we have known for some time and he will play a key role expanding our operations in Southampton, Hampshire and the wider South Coast region.”

Lowes, who in recent years has assisted businesses in the manufacturing, marine, retail, property and leisure industries, added: “It is an exciting time to join CVR Global, with the team continuing to grow and with the expansion in Southampton.

“I’m looking forward to supporting the growth of the firm and believe I’m well placed to do so.

“Having been a business owner myself, I understand the pressures and challenges that need to be overcome and I am firmly of the view that positive solutions can often be achieved in difficult circumstances.”

CVR Global operates as an independent provider of restructuring, insolvency and pensions advisory services and has further UK offices in London, Birmingham, Colchester, Northampton and Hove, along with international offices in Jersey, Gibraltar and the British Virgin Islands.
