Last month’s fourth annual South Coast Commercial Property Show brought together a diverse range of industry experts, guests and exhibitors.

Together they highlighted the region’s leading place within the real estate sector, identifying challenges and opportunities unique to the South Coast.

Beverley Poole of Aspire 4 Business Academy kicked off proceedings with a speed networking session to help attendees break the ice.

Event organiser Lucy Richmond of Collaboration360 said: “These relationships established during the event not only contribute to personal and professional growth, but also play a vital role in supporting the economy’s overall value.

“In an ever-evolving business landscape, the ability to forge new connections and alliances is a powerful catalyst for regional development and prosperity.”

Caleb Parker, host of the Work Bold podcast and founder of Bold and Brave Corporation, followed up the session with a look at the future of work and the office market.

His vision of the post-Covid office world laid out the importance of creating flexible, adaptable workspaces for fast-growing companies, with an emphasis on sustainability, cost and aligning priorities.

In fact, discussions throughout the day centred on energy efficiency in office spaces, as experts explored how landlords can strike a balance between sustainability and profits – and how commercial property law factors into ecological responsibility.

All areas of property were addressed, from the industrial market and its pockets of undersupply; to STEM and the need for commercial developments which support the region’s aerospace, defence, life science and maritime expertise; to residential, with a panel chaired by George Long of Charters.

Councillors from Southampton, Portsmouth, Eastleigh and Basingstoke also shared the latest from their constituencies and PwC gave an economy update.

Joshua Fidler, MD of headline sponsor Spectrum Workplace, said: “South Coast CPS 2023 was a remarkable gathering of industry leaders and enthusiasts.

“The collective spirit of collaboration and innovation was palpable, reinforcing the South Coast’s growing presence in the global real estate arena.

“It’s a two-way street, sharing knowledge and understanding the challenges to implement solutions.

“We were proud to sponsor this show for the fourth time.”

Other sponsors for the event were Amiri, FORTH, RSK Geoscience, Eastleigh Borough Council, with panels sponsored by Kingsbridge Estates, Pangea, Clockwise, Omega RE, Vail Williams, Gracelands, Barratt Developments, Savills, Bulb and Clockwise.

Event organiser Nella Pang of Omega RE added: “The energy in the room was contagious, resonating with the belief that coming together as a region with one voice can only elevate our global presence.

“We eagerly anticipate the future of the South Coast’s commercial property sector and look forward to more such successful gatherings in the years to come.”

Next year’s event will fall on Thursday 14th November 2024.
