Three companies and three individual finance directors have this week been announced as finalists in accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP’s Central South Mid-Market Company of the Year and Finance Director of the Year awards.

BDO’s annual Central South Mid-Market Report, which  celebrates companies with a turnover of between £10m and £300m that are continuing to drive growth in the region, reveals the finalists for Company of the Year are Poole-based manufacturer BOFA International, building materials supplier Sydenhams in Bournemouth and Natures Way Foods in Chichester.

The finalists were selected from more than 40 companies identified over the past 12 months as being the leading mid-market businesses in terms of international activity and profit growth. They were shortlisted for meeting key criteria including strong sustained performance and approach to new markets.

This year, in partnership with CMA Recruitment Group, BDO also identified the top performing mid-market finance directors in the region. These were then shortlisted and the three finalists for the Central South Mid Market FD of the Year have been revealed as Paul Winter of Red Funnel Group, Alan Cooper of Liberty Leasing and Ben Jones of Natures Way Foods.

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner hosted by BBC presenter, Laura Trant at St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton on 22 February.

On BDO’s continued commitment to championing the mid-market, Malcolm Thixton, lead partner at BDO Southampton, said: “We continue to support the growth of these companies that deliver huge amounts to the local and UK economy. It’s a pleasure to recognise three such successful businesses and also individual contributions to the success of the region’s economic engine. I look forward to revealing the winners in February.”
