A Portsmouth company has hailed the acquisition of a new site in Chichester as a significant milestone.
The Trafalgar Group has exchanged contracts to purchase Northshore Shipyard.
Located in Itchenor on Chichester Harbour, it includes a boatyard, lifting facilities, commercial space, and comfortable office spots.
The site covers approximately four acres and also has features such as a deep-water pontoon, two slipways, a café, and commercial buildings totalling 60,000 square feet.
Jonny Boys, Managing Director of The Trafalgar Group, pictured left, said the acquisition marked a significant milestone and his company was eager to explore its potential.
He added: "We’re absolutely thrilled with this new site.
"This property offers numerous opportunities. We look forward to discussing its future with all stakeholders.”
A spokesman for the directors of the Northshore group of companies said: "We’re pleased to pass this remarkable property to The Trafalgar Group.
"We believe they will maintain its legacy and bring in exciting new developments.
"Northshore Yacht Services Ltd do however look forward to continuing to offer repair and maintenance services from the Northshore site for the foreseeable future.”
