Luke Hanratty, Audit Director at Saffery in High Wycombe, has been appointed Vice Chair of High Wycombe Business Improvement District Company (HWBIDCo), after joining the organisation’s governance board just over 12 months ago.

In his new role, Luke’s key responsibility is to ensure oversight of the responsible spending of the BID’s income worth over £1.8 million, for the benefit of 700 businesses operating within High Wycombe’s town centre.

Luke said: “HWBIDCo’s passion for making positive changes is compelling – from its forward-thinking initiatives to ensure its town centre is safe and secure, to its extensive calendar of family focused events. This team is undoubtedly helping the town to prosper and encourage more footfall, and I’m delighted to be asked to play a key role. I look forward to continuing to bring my financial experience and auditor scepticism to the team, making sure all decisions are carefully considered.”

Luke’s voluntary role in the organisation is fully supported by Saffery as the firm is not only located in High Wycombe’s town centre but is also fully committed to responsible business practices in order to encourage sustainable success and long-term stability – objectives shared by HWBIDCo.

Melanie Williams, Chief Executive Officer, HWBIDCo said: “Luke’s razor-sharp mind and attention to detail has impressed us. He brings unique skills that we are in no doubt will help us as we continue to engage decision makers to influence policy to ensure the trading environment in the town is constantly improving.”

HWBIDCo has invested thousands of pounds in local projects and events while also providing bespoke training and business support to ensure that High Wycombe is a better place to shop, work and visit.
