Robert Hill, an experienced commercial property lawyer, has joined national law firm Clarke Willmott LLP as a partner down in its Southampton office. He will also support the firm's Bristol and Cardiff offices.

Robert has a particular specialism in development and development finance, providing high quality commercial advice to corporate occupiers and investors on the acquisition, development, leasing and disposal of commercial real estate interests.

He has recently represented a number of commercial landlords and occupiers in both office and retail premises. He oversaw the retail portfolio for a large UK communications operator as well as the UK office portfolio for two multinational insurance businesses.

Throughout his career, Robert has been involved in a number of high-profile transactions, including the development, financing and leasing of The O2 Arena in South London, the redevelopment of the famous South Bank Centre and - most recently - the funding, development and disposal of Zurich Assurance Limited's new UK headquarters over in Swindon.

He has also represented funds in the acquisition of investment assets such as hotels, retail and various office complexes.

Managing Director of the Commercial Property division at Clarke Willmott, Peter Swinburn, had this to say about the appointment: “Robert is acclaimed for his ability and expertise and we are delighted he has agreed to join us. He will be greatly beneficial to our busy team as well as our retail clients.”
