Rebellion Film Studios joins Filming In England
Rebellion Film Studios, the film production arm of Oxford-based Rebellion Developments, has announced it is now a Filming In England partner.
Filming In England is a partnership of organisations based outside the capital which launched in 2020, set up by Creative England and funded by the British Film Institute. Among the different partners of the scheme are local authorities, locations, facilities and studios.
Rebellion Film Studios set up its first studio in November 2018 to produce film and tv series based on 2000AD characters. 2000AD is one of Rebellion’s publishing subsidiaries.
Since 2003 Rebellion has also owned Audiomotion, a multi-stage studio specialising in the provision of motion capture services to the Game Development, Film and Television industries.
The company now boasts six variable stages across 50,000 square feet of shooting space, a further 10,000 square feet of workshop space, and 12,000 square feet of production offices.
Rebellion also offer extensive VFX facilities, utilising their 30 years of experience developing games. Among their work in this space are the trailers produced for their games, including Evil Genius 2 and Sniper Elite 5.

"The facilities and our partnership with Filming in England reflect Rebellion’s commitment to assisting in the creation of great drama productions. We have already hosted a number of productions and look forward to welcoming more partners in the future."
Rebellion joins an extensive list of studios in the South East which are part of Filming In England, including Pinewood Studios near Slough, where shows such as Channel 4's Taskmaster are filmed, and the well-known Maidstone Studios in Kent.
This has been a busy year for the company, in February it announced the acquirement of the former Oxford Mail offices, which will be used to expand its headquarters.
In May, Sniper Elite 5, the most recent title by the developers, was released and at the start of August Rebellion announced the launch of its new record label: Rebellion Music.
