Reading’s Green Park has been recognised for its continuing contribution to the natural environment, with a special 'Corporate Achievement Award' given by the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).

The award is the third given to Green Park in the past two months, with it also having won the ‘Best Deal Outside Central London’ award at the Office Agents Society's Development Awards and been named ‘Business Park of the Year’ at the annual Thames Valley Property Awards.

Nominated by development and infrastructure consultancy Peter Brett Associates and global real estate company Oxford Properties, CIEEM gave the award to Green Park at a celebration luncheon at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham on June 25.

In giving the award, the judging panel recognised the successes Green Park has made in benefiting the natural environment, and how its vision is communicated and shared with staff and stakeholders.

Specific examples include a significant investment in retail and leisure facilities, health and wellbeing centre, a day nursery, CNG-powered wifi enabled public transport, and docking stations for Reading’s ReadyBike scheme.

Rory Carson, director at Oxford Properties and asset manager of Green Park, said: “We are extremely grateful to the CIEEM for this award and proud of what the team at Green Park has achieved.  Green Park is living testimony that commercial and biodiversity interests can live harmoniously together within the same development, and to mutual benefit.”

On 12 June the Office Agents Society at its annual Development Awards gave Green Park its 'Best Deal Outside Central London' award following the letting of 105,000 sq ft office space to PepsiCo in 2014.  The letting, structured in an innovative way, is the largest office letting in the South East and represents more than one third of Reading’s office take-up.

In May, Green Park was named ‘Business Park of the Year’ at the annual Thames Valley Property Awards, recognising the high level of customer satisfaction from its tenant businesses.

Carson added: “We are thrilled with these awards.  They confirm what we and our Green Park colleagues already know – that Green Park is the best place for businesses in the South East.”

Green Park is 195 acres of stunning parkland and home to more than 50 businesses on the edge of Reading.
