Reading set to part company with manager - reports
Reading FC are close to parting company with manager Veljko Paunovic, according to reports.
The Royals suffered their eight successive league defeat following a 3-2 by Coventry City at the weekend at the Select Car Leasing Stadium and currently sit fourth bottom of the Championship table.
Berkshire Live reported that the club had already began its search for a replacement for Paunovic who has been in charge since August 2020.
Fans protested before the match on Saturday following the poor run of results while some supporters also ran onto the pitch at full time.
Paunovic lamented the negativity that was surrounding the club in his post match conference following the defeat to Coventry.
He said: "If someone has to happen, it'll happen.
"We need to stay away from negativity and whatever is happening around. It is my responsibility and I feel very sorry at some point I let certain things happen and provoked so much frustration and negativity around us and myself, but I understand that.
"I know how football is and I'll keep looking to fix it and change that, but most importantly for the team. And then I need everyone on the same page."
The 44 year-old has won only 28 out of his 81 games charge with his side facing a tough set of upcoming fixtures including a match against fellow strugglers Peterborough United.
