Business United (Biz Utd), the forum connecting fast-growth business leaders in medium-sized businesses (MSBs), has confirmed PwC as the sponsor for its flagship event, the Brittelstand Symposium. Aimed at the drivers of MSBs, the event on September 22 will bring together industry experts in a peer-to-peer environment to discuss key challenges these businesses face.
With Brexit identified as the key cause of uncertainty for many attendees, the Brittlelstand Symposium will explore how directors and owners can overcome the new set of challenges it brings, in terms of talent, data and funding growth.  Experts from the scale-up world including GCS, Henley Business School, UKTI and the Scale Up Institute will be leading hands-on break-out sessions. Regional scale-up leaders Adam Hale, CEO, Fairsail, Barry Lewis, CRO at Cadline and Sean Taylor, MD at Redwood Technologies will share their own war stories.

Chris Maw, office senior partner at PwC, commented: “I am delighted that PwC will be sponsoring the first Brittlestand Symposium. We see this as a great opportunity for fast-growth businesses to build a network and gain valuable insights from other business owners and directors.”

Lord Mark Price CVO, minister of state for trade and investment, will open the event with a special Brexit debrief provided by Professor Graeme Leach, columnist for City AM and The Daily Telegraph. Matthew Syed, award-winning journalist and author will deliver The Redwood Lecture on ‘Black Box Thinking’, his approach to high performance.

Brittelstand Symposium is a one-day, not-for-profit conference at Wokefield Park, Berkshire, on September 22 and is supported by the CBI, IoD, Redwood Technologies, Thames Valley Berkshire LEP and the Torftech Group.

Chris Dodson, founder of Biz Utd, explained: “Fast-growth businesses need to be recognised as the driving force behind our economy.  This is about building a community of like-minded business leaders, all looking for new and better ways to grow their businesses.  We’re delighted to have PwC on board.”
