Pitmans Trustees (PTL) and Bluefin today announced that PTL has acquired Bluefin’s independent trusteeship business, SBJ Professional Trustees (SBJPT). With effect from January 1, 2010 both the business and the staff of SBJPT were transferred to PTL.
Richard Butcher, director of PTL, commented: ‘We are delighted with the acquisition of the business of SBJPT. This proves that we are a major player with ambition. Our long-term growth objectives are entirely consistent with our aim of providing excellent long term governance to our clients. SBJPT has been trading as a firm of independent trustees for 18 years and has a reputation for a very high standard of client service.
"The SBJPT team are excellent people who will add significant strengths to our already robust team. We are looking forward to working with them and to welcoming their clients to PTL."
Steve Carrodus, head of practice at SBJPT, who has joined the Board of PTL, said: ‘We are very excited about the future for our clients and our team. PTL is an innovative and forward looking company, with the same commitment as us to high standards of service. Their team are personable and pragmatic in their approach. The transfer will combine our resources, so improving efficiency and the knowledge pool to the benefit of our existing and new clients."
Peter Gray of Bluefin said: "We are confident that the independent trusteeship business will flourish under separate ownership with a firm which specialises in this area. Pitmans Trustees Ltd are a leading player in this arena and we see a good fit for the SBJPT team."
