MHA MacIntyre Hudson today announced its merger with HMT Assurance LLP, a leading independent Reading-based accountancy practice. Patrick Byrne, chairman of MHA MacIntyre Hudson’s Thames Valley region, explained: “Thames Valley is an important area of growth for the firm in 2013. We see it as having lots of opportunity for us and believe we have found the right team to lead the way based in the Reading office.”

HMT Assurance LLP provides audit, tax and business advice to a wide range of clients, principally high growth, aspirational businesses and large corporates. The merger will bring three partners and 19 staff under the name of MHA MacIntyre Hudson, operating from their current base in central Reading. The partners are all ex-big 4 with considerable experience in dealing with organisations undergoing change and working towards or from some sort of corporate transaction.

Jason Mitchell, partner at HMT Assurance LLP, said: “This merger broadens the range of services and sector expertise that we can provide for our clients while continuing to deliver at the highest level. Being part of MHA MacIntyre Hudson increases our reach both nationally and internationally through MHA and Morison International as well as offering access to professionals specialising in, for example, VAT, employment tax, outsourcing and corporate recovery. We believe the ongoing high quality delivery from our experienced team supported by the wider resources of a larger organisation will give our clients the right blend of professional service and strong personal relationship.”

HMT LLP, based at Henley, is unaffected by the merger and remains an independent entity.

MHA MacIntyre Hudson has offices in Milton Keynes, High Wycombe, London, Northampton and seven other UK locations.
