Award-winning Goringe Accountants based in Reading and London, has made three key strategic hires as part of the firm’s ambitious plans to grow its outsourcing department in line with rising demand from organisations seeking to contract out their finance division.

The news comes less than six months after the firm recruited Mandy Chubb as head of management accounts and Risham Shaheen as chartered accountant.

Lisa McPherson, management accountant associate, Judith Herdman, pension and payroll administrator, and Sarah Griffith, bookkeeper, join Goringe’s eight strong outsourcing team, which provides a full range of financial services to UK and overseas-owned UK subsidiaries with a strong emphasis in the technology and business services sectors.

“Building an in-house finance team takes time, resource and can be costly,” said Nicky Goringe Larkin, managing director and founder of Goringe Accountants. “As a company grows, more accountants are needed with specialist knowledge in particular areas. For SMEs in particular, this can be difficult and risky to manage.

“Our clients recognise the cost and flexible benefits of outsourcing their accounting services as they get a fully functioning finance department with specialists teams all for the same price of hiring one part time employee. For international companies, they require a team with on the ground knowledge of UK finance legislation.

“By continuing to grow our outsourcing division, we’re responding to our clients’ needs for a fully-fledged, flexible finance department and so we’re delighted to have Lisa, Judith and Sarah on board. All three are highly experienced in their specific field of expertise and epitomise the professionalism and care that the Goringe team always show its clients.”

McPherson and Herdman join from a leading international accountancy firm. McPherson, who has 10 years in a Global Financial Shared Services environment, will be responsible for the overall management of the clients’ accounts and VAT returns, and Herdman will bring 30 years in financial services and pensions. Griffith has 23 years public sector finance experience in payroll, audit, budgeting and planning, financial and management accounting.

McPherson added: “It’s great to be part of the Goringe team as it’s such a forward-thinking, dynamic firm. I love in particular the ability to work so closely with clients, advising them so they get the best from their accounts and in a way that helps maximise the growth of their business.”
