Fortus Business Advisors & Accountants has recently strengthened its southern presence by merger with the Reading office of HJS Accountants.

The Reading-based team will continue to look after the audit, tax and accountancy needs of its growing Thames Valley client base, whilst accessing additional expertise and skills available through the Fortus team in areas including international services, corporate finance and specialist tax advice.

With a strong background in the region, HJS Reading has become a key strategic element in Fortus’ growth and expansion plans. Former director of HJS Accountants and now Fortus director, Mark Rogers, commented: “What I enjoy most about my work is playing a key role in assisting clients to achieve their strategic goals. Becoming a part of Fortus means I can take this level of support even further. We’re really excited about the additional knowledge and expertise we can tap into, without sacrificing any aspect of how we work with our clients. That’s extremely important to us.”

Gordon Johnston, executive director at Fortus, said: “I’m delighted that Mark and the team at Reading are joining Fortus. The team is highly regarded by its clients and the wider business community. It’s an exciting time for all business owners across Reading and the Thames Valley area as the team will have greater access to specialist support, including expertise in international taxation issues, services that will help meet the existing and future needs of its clients.”

Fortus operates UK-wide from 12 locations including Reading, London, Milton Keynes, Southampton and York. Now with over 260 employees, the business continues to grow and this is demonstrated in part by its investment in securing the very best talent.
