On Friday October 7, around 70 people will be sleeping out again in Reading as part of Byte Night, the UK’s largest sleep-out, taking place across ten cities up and down the country. Participants will be spending the night in sleeping bags at Forbury Gardens to raise money for charity Action for Children which helps ensure disadvantaged young people across the South East have a safe home.

Sally Hanson, chair of Byte Night Thames Valley Board, said: “I’m proud that our Reading leg of the sleep-out is now in its tenth year and has raised an incredible £1 million since 2006. Businesses across our region including Barclays, Symantec and Vodafone have already signed up to sleep out but we’re still looking for other companies, big and small, to join us - it’s not too late to register.”

Gary Chugg, head of Barclays business and corporate banking for Reading and North Hampshire, and a board member of Byte Night, said: “At least two teams from Barclays will be taking part and I encourage other Corporates to get involved and help put the lives of vulnerable young people back on track.”
