The longest-serving Indian restaurant in Wokingham has branched out in a most unexpected way, offering something very unusual to its loyal customers. A tailoring service.

Poppadums and mango chutney. A Balti and a naan. Vindaloo and a large glass of ice cold lassi... Indian dining offers up plenty of delicious pairings. But curry and a three-piece suit? It's a new one on us.

Sultan Café aren't afraid to try new things. That's why owner Sunil Chopra has decided to offer in-house tailoring as a new service. He's opted to hold semi-regular 'trunk show' events, showcasing suits and giving customers a chance to discuss alterations. All while relaxing in the restaurant and enjoy refreshments.

There's no need to worry about your threads, though. Clients don't just hand their suits into a clumsy restauranteur with a needle and thread quaking in inexperienced hands. Mr. Chopra is a skilled tailor with years of experience in the trade, having previously fitted and made suits for various high-profile clients such as diplomats and visiting foreign dignitaries.

Sunil Chopra, who runs Sultan Café, explains the unusual move like this: “It’s a chance to come along and meet your tailor and have a fitting while enjoying a drink on us. I’m offering free consultations to help you discover what we offer and the thousands of different fabrics we have available."

“You can even bring along your old suit or other item for us to replicate. Perhaps it’s the perfect fit but has become worn – don’t worry, we can make you a brand new version using the fabric of your choice.”

“I’m really hoping to bring something different to Wokingham. There are not many places outside of London where you can get measured for a suit and have access to such a vast range of luxury fabrics and makers around the world.”

Fittings take place in the Sultan Café from Wednesday to Sunday. for more information on the service, you call Mr. Chopra on 07399 129416.
