The Peter Cooper Motor Group celebrated their 40th anniversary by raising £40,000 for charity.
The funds were donated to Cancer Research UK and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
The family business employs over 250 people across fourteen South Coast outlets in Dorset, Hampshire and West Sussex.
Managing Director of The Peter Cooper Motor Group, Darren Cooper, said: “It’s been a fantastic effort by all the staff, and one we had a lot of fun taking part in. I’m delighted to hand over these two big cheques to our chosen charities.
“The Peter Cooper Motor Group has always played a large part in supporting local charities. Over the last 40 years we have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for good causes which we will continue to do through the Peter Cooper Motor Group Foundation.”
Fundraising activities, ranged from a charity golf day, physical challenges which included the Winchester 10K run, numerous cake sales, an 80s fancy dress day, a Spinnaker Tower abseil, a premium staff raffle and even sponsored leg waxing.

Darren continued: “Forty years in business is a great milestone to reach and one that we are all very proud of. Our teams work tirelessly to deliver great service to our customers, and we look forward to our continued success over the remaining year and beyond."
Mike Stranney, Engagement Director at JDRF, said: “A big thank you to Darren and everyone at The Peter Cooper Motor Group. They have made a huge difference to our fundraising efforts during difficult times which has meant we have been able to continue the vital medical research to ultimately find a cure for Type 1 diabetes and continue to provide information to those who need it most.”
