On Monday June 29, Venturefest Oxfordshire 2009 will bring together three vital sectors required for economic growth in the UK.

Over 1,000 investors, innovators and entrepreneurs from across the UK will be at the Kassam Stadium for an intensive day of networks, seminars and keynote speakers as part of Oxfordshire's innovative, high-growth economy.

The format of Venturefest Oxfordshire 2009 is new with an intense one-day event (rather than the previous two-day format) followed by a dinner at Wadham College in the centre of Oxford.

Dave Waller, Venturefest Oxfordshire 2009 chairman, said: “The way the economy is shaping up we need to help those with investor ready ideas. We need to showcase innovation and connect it with support. Venturefest is an efficient way of introducing those people wishing to invest and helping entrepreneurs find projects needing their skills.”

Oxfordshire has over 3,000 hi-tech companies, two innovative universities and one of the highest densities of knowledge-based businesses in the UK. It is particularly strong in IT, bioscience, publishing and performance manufacturing. Venturefest showcases technologies from the universities and regional economy, and gives delegates the chance to network with, and learn from, investors, company directors and serial entrepreneurs.

Waller continued: “At the same time Venturefest will continue to innovate with new ways to help bring about the contacts, the networking with attitude, and the facilitated serendipity, that is the source of so much business development and is the core of Venturefest's mission.”

The Venturefest Oxfordshire 2009 event is an annual networking event that profiles and displays the country’s most inspiring science, technology and knowledge entrepreneurs bringing over 1000 delegates to Oxford.
