International environmental consultancy SLR has acquired E.Vironment LLC (EV), a Houston-based environmental management, health and safety, process safety, and transaction advisory firm.

EV provides strategic consulting expertise to financial, legal, industrial, and energy clients throughout the world. It brings a core management team of five principals to SLR, each with over thirty years of technical and management advisory expertise.

The EV team has worked with most of the major energy and chemical companies, with many client relationships ongoing for over 20 years. Recent projects have included providing consultancy services for Shell Oil, US Department of Energy and Conoco Phillips among others.

EV managing partner Paul Pizzi said: “We are excited to be joining the forward-thinking SLR team. Our services, client-focus and culture blend very well allowing us to provide further expertise to our clients.”

UK-based SLR group chief executive Neil Penhall commented: “This strategic acquisition adds to our global management advisory services capability, especially in the growth areas of environmental management and transactional due diligence.

“This move, which marks SLR’s sixth acquisition in the past twelve months, complements our established position as a leader in the global environmental consulting market.”

Based near Oxford, SLR in the UK employs over 350 staff working out of 24 offices.
