Eynsham-based Pearson Buchholz and Top 100 accountancy practice Shaw Gibbs have announced their decision to merge as part of Shaw Gibbs’ ongoing expansion plans.
Pearson Buchholz directors Lynne Buchholz and Samantha Daniels and all of the team will join with Shaw Gibbs, continuing to operate from their west Oxfordshire base.
Shaw Gibbs is an Oxford-based firm of accountants and business advisers.
Lynne Buchholz, managing director of Pearson Buchholz, said: “This is a great opportunity to add value for our clients with enhanced capabilities. There is a natural fit with Shaw Gibbs, on a cultural as well as a business level. This move will enable us to continue to provide an excellent service while giving our clients access to a much larger pool of experience and resources.”
Peter O’Connell, managing director of the Shaw Gibbs Group, added: "I’m delighted to welcome the Pearson Buchholz team into the Group. Together with our existing staff, they will receive plenty of opportunities for ongoing professional development, recognition and rewards, as well being able to access in-house resources and expertise on various topic areas.”
Buchholz added:“Shaw Gibbs has a clear and exciting vision to embrace technology ahead of Making Tax Digital. They are also well placed to support our existing sector specialisms, which include healthcare with us already servicing a number of clients on Harley Street close to the Shaw Gibbs’ London office. All of our clients will see the enhanced benefits of having the combined team.”
From their London and Oxfordshire offices, Shaw Gibbs will continue to provide a full-service offering to owner-managed businesses and individuals. This includes a dedicated personal and corporate tax team, corporate finance, financial services and HR support; as well as insolvency and recovery specialists. The Group is also a member of DFK International, a worldwide association of independent accounting, tax and business advisory firms with over 220-member firms covering 93 countries.
