Roy Magara has moved from his Nottinghamshire practice to Hedges Law in Oxford where he has joined the growing dispute resolution team as a solicitor advocate.
With dual qualification as a barrister and a solicitor, he has expertise across the range of general civil litigation, but his primary focus is on employment law.
Nicola Poole, managing director of Hedges Law, said: "Roy stood head and shoulders above other candidates we considered for this role and he is already proving to be a terrific hire.
"He is a highly intelligent and articulate lawyer, with a delightful manner, which makes him popular with clients and colleagues alike. His excitement for getting to know the Oxfordshire business and legal community is evident and I am sure he will soon be a well-known figure around the city and county.
