Oxford has the highest number of electric charging stations
According to a study by CarGuide.co.uk, Oxford is one of the best places to own an electric car.
A new study carried out by CarGuide.co.uk has named Oxford as the sixth-best place to own an electric vehicle based on the city’s high number of charging points.
The study analysed the number of charging points on the ZapMap app and ONS data to establish which area of the UK had the most charging stations, specifically looking at areas with a population of over 100,000.
The results of the study concluded that Oxford was the sixth-best area to have an electric car due to it having over 70 charging points per 100,000 people in the area.
In comparison, Milton Keynes was placed at the top of the list as the town had almost double the amount of charging stations as Oxford, with 137.3 per 100,000 people.
Olli Astley, CarGuide.co.uk’s founder, commented: “Whilst we at CarGuide.co.uk believe that Motorists getting into electric vehicles is the best way forward due to the benefits to the environment, the UK’s charging infrastructure still has a way to go."
The Oxford City Council website has a page where owners of electric vehicles can pinpoint and identify all electric charging points on a map and view the details of each point, including the location, connectors, network, price and restrictions.
