Oxford-based Vicon makes senior appointments to boost growth
Vicon, the Oxford-based motion capture company, has unveiled a series of new senior appointments with immediate effect to boost growth and unlock new markets.
Included in the shake-up are the newly created roles at the firm of chief operating officer (COO), chief marketing officer (CMO) and a head of machine learning.

The new hires follows the publication last month of six month results from Vicon parent company Oxford Metrics, which showed 69.6% revenue growth for Vicon.
Notably, the company’s entertainment revenue specifically was up an impressive 178.2% as demand across film, TV and video games continued.

Timothy Smith has been named the new head of machine learning. He has over a decade of experience in the space and was most recently an engineering manager at social media giant Twitter.
Smith will accelerate Vicon's ability to deploy machine learning solutions to motion capture at scale, and will play a crucial role in leading its exploration and development of new technologies.
Meanwhile, Pablo Callejo, former strategic business development director, has been promoted to the newly-created role of COO. He will now oversee strategic operations for the business including production, supply chain management, IT, regulatory compliance and facilities management.
Chris Hoskin becomes Vicon’s first CMO. He was formerly regional director of marketing, EMEA for Narvar and has more than 15 years' experience in senior B2B marketing roles.
Stephen Sandford has been named head of product. He joins Vicon after 16 years at Clear-Com, an HME company, a global provider of professional real-time communication solutions.
John Adamson, who has 22 years’ experience in motorsport, has become Vicon's software delivery director.
He was previously head of aerodynamic software in Formula 1 for the French marque Alpine.
Established in 1984, Vicon is an award-winning provider of motion capture systems for the life sciences, media and entertainment, location-based virtual reality, and engineering industries.
