New general manager appointed at Daish’s Holidays’ Bournemouth hotel

Dan Gates has been appointed general manager of coach holiday group, Daish’s Holidays’ Bournemouth Sands Hotel.

Dan, who re-joins Daish’s Holidays following a year’s hiatus from the company, brings more than 20 years’ experience in the sector. The appointment is testament to internal progression, having risen from his original role as bar tender and night porter in 2010 Dan held the post of assistant manager by 2014.

Paul Harper, commercial director at Daish’s Holidays, said: “We’re really pleased to welcome Dan back to the company in his new role as general manager. 

"His wealth of experience in the hospitality industry and passion for excellent service will ensure that the Bournemouth Sands Hotels exceeds our guests' expectations at every level.  Dan will be an asset to the hotel and our team.”

Dan’s new position as general manager of the 76-room hotel will see him leading a team of 33, overseeing all aspects of the hotel operations.

Dan said: “Coming back to Daish’s Holidays is exciting for me. I missed the hotel, guests, staff, and management in the year I was away and I’m very pleased that I have been given the opportunity to manage the Bournemouth Sands Hotel. 

“As a hotel earning a TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Award for the eighth year running, I am very much looking forward to continuing to provide the best possible service and facilities to guests staying at the hotel.”
