In our 17th year of sponsoring the awards, NatWest is the proud sponsor of the Dynamic Business of the Year award.

This award focuses on businesses that have demonstrated a clear vision for the development of their staff, systems, products or services throughout the year. The award recognises commercial success but also how management’s vision has been achieved through its people, the development of new products, M&A strategies and/or capitalisation of new funding, technological or commercial opportunities. In summary, the Dynamic Business of the Year will have differentiated itself in its market, will stand out from the crowd and will demonstrate the ability to move quickly in the pursuit of profitable growth.

“NatWest is delighted to sponsoring this year’s Dynamic Business of the Year Award. We know how important it is to understand the ambitions, opportunities and challenges your business is facing and we’ve researched this in our recent report ‘Mid-market Britain: the view from the boardroom’.

Having been NatWest’s regional director for over nine years, as well as being a director of the Berkshire/Thames Valley LEP, I know that our local economy continues to earn plaudits as one of the most vibrant and successful in the UK.

We are therefore particularly proud to be sponsoring an award that will give proper recognition to the companies, entrepreneurs and management teams that are playing such a vital role in that success and which will have such an integral part to play in our continued economic prosperity.”

WINNER’S QUOTE from Robert Collard, Judge for 2018 Awards

R Collard was delighted to claim the title Dynamic Business of the Year in 2017 and as managing director I was very pleased that the award’s sponsors saw for themselves the company’s clear vision for strong, continuous growth that has transformed it into a major regional player in the waste management, demolition and haulage business.

The Thames Valley is home to some of the most successful and dynamic businesses in the UK – from start-ups to multinationals – and I am delighted that R Collard was considered among the best. It is an exciting area in which to run a business, offering opportunities for expansion and collaboration which, combined with the enthusiasm of R Collard’s staff has enabled us to thrive. I am looking forward to joining the judging panel and seeing this year’s entries.

JUDGES QUOTES

“Xtrac has had a long association with the TVBMA, most recently winning the Dynamic Business award and the Management Team award in 2016. Xtrac was started in Wokingham over 30 years ago with four employees. Today we are based in Thatcham with 340 employees and following an investment by Inflexion Private Equity we have just opened a large factory extension to accommodate our growing motorsport and high performance automotive markets with particular emphasis on the latest range of hybrid and electric vehicle transmissions.  Xtrac exports nearly 80% of its £50 million turnover”

“During my professional career at PwC, there was no doubt that the success of our clients was founded on the excellence and dynamism of the businesses’ teams.

“As a board member of the Chamber, I meet many businesses in the region and hear examples of the strategic decisions made that drive businesses forward. I was therefore very pleased to be invited to judge this award and look forward to seeing the entries”.
