Southampton freight and transport company, Meachers Global Logistics, have invested £1.5 million in upgrading their fleet.

The investment sees vehicles fitted with the latest camera technology in line with the London direct vision permits.

The investment also includes a comprehensive trailer replacement scheme.

Meachers Global Logistics has expanded its fleet with six new specialist vehicles as part of a £1.5million investment programme designed to offer a wider range of services to customers.

The company has replaced vehicles at its Nursling headquarters with five DAF XG Tractor units and a further two DAF CF 26T tail lift rigids have been acquired for its Palletways base in Fair Oak.

More fleet replacements will follow during the course of the next year.

Meachers Fleet Director Jamie Terris said: “Meachers is thrilled to be investing for the future with this brand new fleet of specialist vehicles which will bring a wider range of services to our customers.

“The investment programme will make the Meachers brand more prominent over the entire business and allow for even more growth in the future.”

Gary Edmondson, Territory Manager at Adams Morey, Southampton, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Meachers Global Logistics on supplying the latest batch of vehicles, which includes five new DAF XGs, part of the New Generation DAF range, a truly game-changing vehicle which sets new standards for driver comfort, safety and efficiency.

“We’d like to thank the team at Meachers for continuing to choose Adams Morey and the DAF product, and we wish them all the very best with the new vehicles.”
