Maidenhead-based MESL Group has been acquired by Coventry-based Vinci Energies United Kingdom plc in a seven figure deal.

In line with Vinci Energies United Kingdom’s decentralised structure of business units, each with a reputation for providing strong local support and being managed from within, MESL will continue to be run from Cordwallis House in Maidenhead. It will retain its own identity and continue operating with its current team.

Peter Rooney, managing director of Vinci Energies United Kingdom plc explained: “This is a significant deal for both Vinci Energies and MESL. It represents an important step forward in our strategy for growth, as it increases our presence in London and the South East as well as broadening the range of services we provide to our clients. From MESL’s perspective, it can now benefit from the support and resource that comes from being part of a major group.

“Clearly there is a natural fit between the two companies – a true case of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts.”

Founded 27 years ago, the MESL Group has a strong track record of delivering electrical and mechanical engineering solutions in the building services sector.

Vinci Energies is an international engineering organisation operating from 700 business units. In the United Kingdom the company specialises in the provision of electrical, mechanical and IT engineering services for industry, the service sector and local authorities.

Rooney continued: “The synergy between the two companies also extends to the culture. Both Vinci Energies and MESL share similar values, having a passion for employee development and training, a strong customer service ethic, a directly employed workforce and a track record of investing in the future. For both organisations this has underpinned long term customer relationships.”
