Maidenhead: Environmental company SUEZ awards design contract to Morgan Lovell
Leading office interior design, fit out, and refurbishment specialist Morgan Lovell has won a significant contract to design and deliver the new Maidenhead headquarters of environmental services company SUEZ.
Having recently re-signed its lease, and with support from its existing landlord, SUEZ was able to appoint Morgan Lovell, which is located in London and the Thames Valley, to deliver the full Cat A and Cat B fit out of 25,000 sq ft of office space, including the provision of new furniture across five floors.
External works will also be included in the scope of work with plans to create a welcoming entrance and veranda. With the arrival of Crossrail in Maidenhead in 2019, this project will modernise the space bringing it up-to-date with its changing surroundings, while making the workspace more reflective of SUEZ’s business strategy.
Morgan Lovell will also deliver the project to a SKA Gold standard, which will include sourcing sustainable products, recycling and reusing materials, and ensuring that wellbeing elements are incorporated throughout. As 300 members of staff will be moving into the building during the phased construction project, Morgan Lovell will also ensure that the transitions are co-ordinated with business activities to minimise disruption to day-to-day operations.
In order to successfully meet these targets, Morgan Lovell has started workplace consultancy activities with client engagement workshops, which will continue throughout the project. Change management is also being implemented as part of the overall project plan.
Colin Allan, managing director of Morgan Lovell Southern, said: “We will be working very closely with SUEZ to ensure that the vision for the space is realised, transforming the office into an environment that supports the business's exciting future.”
Facilities manager for SUEZ, Glynn Mitchell, said: “The upgrade of our Maidenhead office, and change to our working practices as a result, will help foster a greater spirit of collaboration within the workplace, which is one of the core values of our business. We are delighted to have Morgan Lovell on board to assist us with this and we look forward to seeing the final result next year.”
