Bristol-based cafe operator Loungers has been awarded two prizes at the 2023 Casual Dining Awards.

At the prestigious event at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on Thursday, April 27 the company’s Lounge Café Bar brand was named Pub/Bar Brand of the Year (50+ sites), with its sister brand Cosy Club taking home the gong for Menu Innovation (26+ sites).

The company was also shortlisted in the Employer of the Year and Casual Dining Group of the Year categories, with Cosy Club nominated for the Restaurant Brand of the Year award.

The Casual Dining Awards are a celebration of the best multi-site restaurant, pubs and bars in the UK, highlighting the achievements made by the most innovative and successful operators in the industry.

Winners were chosen by a carefully curated panel, with industry leaders such as Azzurri Group, the Big Table Group, Greene King, Mission Mars, Mitchells & Butlers and The Restaurant Group all shortlisted for awards.

The awards come after another landmark year for Loungers, with the opening of 29 new sites, comprising 24 Lounge Café Bars, four Cosy Clubs, and the first roadside site under the new Brightside brand, in addition to sales growth of 7.4 per cent on a one-year basis, and a sales growth of 17.6 per cent based like-for-like pre-pandemic growth.
