Jules Farr, a lecturer in business management at the university of Gloucestershire, has been named 'event planner of the year' at this year's Business Awards UK Events and Exhibition Awards.
As well as teaching, Jules is the proprietor of Emerge Events, which creates and carries out unique events in the county, including gothic art and literature, and fantasy crafts within the eerie surroundings of the former Gloucester prison.

A proud Jules,who also holds a master’s degree in creative events management, said: "I am extremely grateful for the support and encouragement of my family and my colleagues at University of Gloucestershire in helping me to fulfil my passion for providing excellence in events management.
"As a business owner for more than 20 years, I am passionate about sharing my experiences with our students so they have the practical skills and the academic knowledge to achieve rewarding and meaningful careers when they graduate."
