Launch of Future Tourism Summit and new support available to boost Buckinghamshire visitor economy

A new programme of support has been launched to accelerate the recovery of the tourism, hospitality and leisure sector and wider visitor economy in in Buckinghamshire.

Visit Buckinghamshire: Boost will help businesses in the tourism, hospitality and leisure sector prepare for future trends, and offers a range of bespoke support, which includes an exciting Future Tourism Summit on 2 March 2022 at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre.

The Buckinghamshire Future Tourism Summit will be hosted by leading travel journalist and broadcaster, Simon Calder. The event is specifically designed for businesses in the tourism, hospitality and leisure sectors and will bring together a panel of high-calibre speakers to inspire, unlock access to a network of support and will be an unmissable networking opportunity. Lucy Dowson, Tourism Development Manager at Visit Buckinghamshire, explains: “The aim of Visit Buckinghamshire: Boost is to help businesses in our sector come back more resilient to future challenges. This includes looking at ways to become more sustainable, more digitally enabled and more inclusive to engage the widest range of potential customers.”

Through five separate workstreams, businesses and their employees will be supported to develop new skills, to innovate and create new products and services focused on the following themes:

· Boost: Your accessibility
· Boost: Your digital skills
· Boost: Your workforce
· Boost: Your growth

Businesses can access a range of support, consisting of 1-2-1 advice from a team of experienced advisers, digital training programmes, carbon and accessibility audits, action planning, in-depth workshops, and inspirational events. £250 vouchers will also be available to support the implementation of new initiatives and training.

Visit Buckinghamshire and The Chilterns is the official Destination Management Organisation (Tourist Board) for Buckinghamshire.
