The Wyre Forest area was the focal point of an event this morning (Tuesday 21 May 2019) at Sixways Stadium, which saw Mike Parker, Corporate Director: Economic Prosperity & Place at Wyre Forest District Council talk about the plans for the area and the supply chain opportunities linked to a new development at Silverwoods Way in Kidderminster.

Birmingham-based Construction and Fit-out Solutions Ltd (CAFOS) has been appointed to deliver the scheme, which will comprise nine new units of 600 sq ft each and is due to start next month.

The news comes on the heels of the announcement last month, that Bromsgrove-based firm Barton Firtop is also planning to build a 60,000 sq ft plant for the expansion of its filtration products business on the Silverwoods site.

Mike Parker said: “The development will comprise nine new units of 600 sq ft each which will be available to let to businesses; the existing Hoobrook Enterprise Centre next door is currently fully let and we know that there is strong demand in the district for units of this size.

“I’m very pleased that we’ve been able to award the contract to CAFOS and expect the work to start on site shortly.”

Adam Collins, Commercial Director and Jack Barnett, Marketing Manager at CAFOS met with local sub-contractors and suppliers at the event and engaged in a series of pre-booked one-to-one appointments with plasterers, electricians, landscapers and many more.

Jack Barnett, CAFOS said: “This is the first event of this type that CAFOS has attended and spoken at, it was a fantastic opportunity to meet suppliers we would have otherwise been unaware of, opening our eyes further to the array of talent the local area has to offer.

“We look forward to forming strong relationships with many of them in the future and would highly recommend other businesses utilising the opportunities the Finditin team can offer.”

The opportunity to meet a principal contractor working in Worcestershire, has been a regular occurrence since FinditinWorcestershire’s launch in 2011.

Worcestershire County Council and partner, IceBlue Marketing & Design Ltd based in Kidderminster, deliver the programme which aims to supply chain opportunities to local businesses through monthly events and the business portal www.finditinworcestershire.com.

This event also revealed more about the opportunities with Oakleaf Commercial Services, part of The Community Housing Group.

The company, also based in Kidderminster, provides property maintenance and construction services and regularly uses FinditinWorcestershire’s events to meet new suppliers and sub-contractors.

FinditinWorcestershire is looking forward to seeing more opportunities from CAFOS posted on the website.

Founded in 2016, CAFOS has a great reputation for delivering construction and fit-out solutions across a wide variety of sectors which has enabled it to grow exponentially over the last three years.

From its head office on Hagley Road West in Birmingham, it works across multiple sectors including residential developments, leisure, retail, education and healthcare.
