More than 15 years after Reading Football Club’s record-breaking 106-point Championship season, Kyocera Document Solutions UK is set to reignite its partnership with the club for its 150th anniversary celebrations.

In the summer of 2005, Kyocera was announced as Reading FC’s shirt sponsor. The team then went on to experience the most successful season ever by a Championship club, scoring 99 goals and securing promotion to the Premier League sooner than any other team in history.

In commemoration of this and Reading FC’s milestone birthday, Kyocera will sponsor the club’s 150th Anniversary Gala Dinner, taking place at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Wednesday 5th May 2022.

Rolling back the years, the Kyocera logo will also appear on special Reading shirts for a legends match on Saturday 21st May, where some of the players from the iconic 2005-06 season will face off against opponents from the Reading team promoted to the Premier League in 2012.

Rod Tonna-Barthet, CEO at Kyocera Document Solutions UK, said: “Sponsoring Reading FC for one of the most fruitful seasons in the club’s history is a source of great pride for us at Kyocera, so we’re thrilled to be supporting the club in its 150th anniversary celebrations.

“The Gala Dinner promises to be a fantastic occasion where everyone connected with Reading FC can reminisce on the club’s successes, while we’re eagerly anticipating seeing the Kyocera logo on club shirts once again for the legends match. It’s a great programme of events that all attendees will enjoy.”

Tim Kilpatrick, Head of Commercial at Reading Football Club, said: “Kyocera leapt at the opportunity to reignite their relationship with the club and I’m delighted they have agreed to support the two 150th anniversary events coming up in May.

"I look forward to welcoming them to the stadium for what we hope will be the perfect end to our anniversary campaign.”
