Hughenden Consulting (Hughenden) has moved to new, larger premises in High Wycombe that will serve as a base for its growing international operations in Europe and North America.

The company, whose revenues doubled in fiscal year 2013, provides specialist education and consulting services that help global manufacturers run more efficient, sustainable and profitable supply chains.

The new site at Lancaster Court, Coronation Road, will house more staff and allow Hughenden to host its specialist conferences and training sessions on-site, for which there is growing demand.

After considering a range of options, Hughenden chose to stay located in High Wycombe rather than move to London or elsewhere. A key factor in the decision was for the excellent transit links to all directions by train and the motorway and also the short commute to Heathrow, which provides the vital link to its international assignments in Asia, Europe and North America.

Hughenden’s team values Buckinghamshire for its international, well-educated skills base and high level of entrepreneurial activity. According to Buckinghamshire Business First, the country has the highest enterprise rate per capita of any area in the UK, with 70 enterprises per 10,000 residents. This means that Hughenden is able to tap into a rich pool of employee candidates, business services and development funds as it grows.

According to Hugh Williams, founder and managing director: “We hire supply chain experts with knowledge of the discipline combined with well-developed people skills. Because most of our client work spans multiple countries, it’s vital that our people not only speak foreign languages but also have a strong awareness of and sensitivity to other cultures. We have had good success finding people that fit this profile in Bucks.”

Another important link that Hughenden has to the County is through the course it offers through Buckinghamshire New University that offers professional accreditation in demand management to business professionals in the UK and Europe. Hughenden has just certified the first participants in the scheme from the Irish food manufacturer, Kerry Foods.
