Five new partners have been created at law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys in the firm’s largest promotion round.

Twenty five lawyers are celebrating their promotions alongside 11 newly-qualified solicitors.

Real estate solicitors Emme Raynsford and Morgan West in Cheltenham and Hayley Phelps in the restructuring and insolvency (R&I) team in Worcester have been made partners.

Rod Thomas (pictured) managing partner, said: “This is without doubt the largest promotion round we have ever had; it both recognises the talent and dedication of all those who have been promoted and shows the range of opportunities we offer.

“It is no coincidence that it swiftly follows the promotion of 11 newly qualified solicitors at the end of their training, beginning their legal careers with us. All these appointments are thoroughly deserved, and we congratulate all of those celebrating.”

Ruth Sheret in the Worcester regulatory team has been made a legal director; moving up to senior associate level are Janeen Brindley (real estate), Deanne Hamilton (R&I) and Cris Manuel-Hughes (dispute resolution) in Cheltenham; Helen Cairns-Terry (employment) in the Wye Valley office; Kate Potter (real estate) and Penny-Jo Wilson (family) in Hereford, and Eimir Tuckett (real estate) and Elizabeth Wickson (Medical Accident Group) in Worcester.

Eight lawyers have become associates, including Holly Lanigan and Qess Ali in the Worcester real estate team, and Katherine Dakers in the Worcester employment team.

Harrison Clark Rickerbys has more than 800 staff and partners based at offices in Birmingham, Cambridge, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Hereford, London, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Thames Valley, Worcester and the Wye Valley, providing a complete spectrum of legal services to both business and private clients regionally and nationwide.

The firm has a number of teams specialising in individual sectors, including education, health and social care, technology, agricultural and rural affairs, finance and financial services, defence, security and the forces, and construction.

An early advocate of online news, he spent the first years of the 2000s telling his bosses that the internet posed both the biggest opportunity and greatest threat to the newspaper industry and the art of journalism. He was right on both counts.

Since 2006 he has enjoyed a career as a freelance journalist. He lives in rural Wiltshire with one wife, two children, and three cats.
