Young people wanting to find out more about the difference apprenticeships can make to their lives are invited to a free event in Portsmouth this week.
The apprenticeships information event will bring together employers, young people and their parents at The Victory Suite, Fratton Park, on Thursday 23 January.
It be open for organised school groups from 9.30am to 3pm, and will stay open for parents/guardians and other interested young people until 6.30pm.
Cllr Rob Wood, Portsmouth City Council cabinet member for children and education, said: "We want young people to find out more so this is a great chance for them to learn about the exciting apprenticeship opportunities available in the city.
"Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to have a go at a wide range of apprenticeship-related activities and to talk to local employers and training providers looking to fill vacancies.
"If you are considering earning while you learn in a real job, working towards a real qualification with a real future then you are urged to attend this event."
The event has been organised by the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) together with Portsmouth City Council and the Association of Learning Providers Hampshire and Isle of Wight (ALPHI).
