Hampshire: Hendy Group shortlisted in key national awards
Hendy, which has a number of outlets in Hampshire, has been shortlisted for a major national award for its commitment to staff training and development.
It is in the running for the Skills and Development Award at the Motor Trader Industry Awards which celebrate the achievements of leading companies within modern motor retailing.
The award is new this year and recognises the increasing importance of training and development in the success of a company with the winner set to be announced in London next month.
Chief executive Paul Hendy said the Motor Trader Awards are extremely prestigious in the industry and said he was thrilled the group has been shortlisted in such an important category.
The shortlisted entry is for the group’s programme to develop existing managers and emerging talent within the group which employs 2,000 people across Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey and Kent.
“Our staff are crucial to the success of the group and by training, supporting and coaching them we can ensure a skilled and motivated workforce which then ensures the very best service to our customers,” said Hendy. “Our management development programme provides coaching and development support to more than 120 managers in our organisation and is an ongoing investment which is now an integral part of the business.”
Hendy is one of the UK’s largest dealership networks and this year celebrates 160 years in business. It has 26 franchises and operates from 83 outlets with a turnover of £1 billion.
