County Windows (Winchester) has acquired the business and assets of Apple Home Improvements (AHI), for an undisclosed sum.

AHI, which was headquartered at Aviation Business Park, Bournemouth and had showrooms in Parley and Hedge End, collapsed just before Christmas with the loss of over 100 jobs, and numerous uncompleted orders.

Following the acquisition, the enlarged group will trade as County Windows from its existing head office in Winchester. Both AHI’s showrooms in Bournemouth and Hedge End will be rebranded and begin trading as County Windows in the coming weeks. The group will have a geographic catchment from Weymouth to Chichester, and north to Guildford.

Commenting on the acquisition, Peter Hall, chairman of County Windows said: “We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of AHI today. As a significant employer across the south coast, we will look to take on AHI staff and contractors where appropriate and will be in contact them shortly.

“The combined turnover of the new County Windows group will be in the region of £14 million, a sizeable company in the region which we anticipate will have a positive impact for the local economy and employment opportunities.

“County Windows has an experienced and proven management team with a reputation for quality and reliability going back 30 years.  I’m excited about the future and would like to reassure those customers who have been let down by AHI that we’ll do what we can to honour their contracts.”

The company’s management is headed up by managing director Martin Snow, previously a director of Anglian Home Improvements, and Pat Jeanes, also from Anglian, is in charge of sales. They are assisted by a top operations and installations team.

Martin Snow added: “We will concentrate on delivering quality installations across the region as this is what stands us apart in the industry. County Windows prides itself on transparent pricing, passive sales and excellent customer service. with first-class workmanship.”

A helpline and email address have been set up for AHI customers to contact with queries about their existing orders. These are 01202 283333 and info@county-windows.com.
