Hampshire Chamber of Commerce hosting ‘Bto3 Opportunity Expo and Skills Exchange'
The ‘Bto3 Opportunity Expo and Skills Exchange’, an event set to be hosted by Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, will look at how 'essential links' can be forged between businesses and third sector organisations.
This event will take place on July 19 2023 at the Winchester Science Centre & Planetarium and is aims to open up 'closer connections' so that businesses and charities can better support each other.
Proceedings will include a number of talks from charity professionals, representatives from civic bodies, and senior figures from businesses of different sizes and industry specialisms.
Hampshire Chamber chief executive and executive chairman Ross McNally said: “Our skills exchange is a novel opportunity for companies and charities to come together face-to-face for mutual support.
“It is a uniquely Hampshire forum that will provide expert insight on how Bto3 relationships can help with skills development, ESG objectives, strategic investment decisions and improved staff motivation and retention.
“Sharing best practice is at the heart of good business. We know there is a wealth of excellence in the charities sector to address the demands of effective governance, asset management and community engagement.
“We’re privileged to showcase this to our member network and to learn from the best practice that exists in many Bto3 relationships.”

Among the speakers is Ben Ward, chief executive of Wonderseekers, the charity behind Winchester Science Centre, and the event host and sponsor.
Ben said: “I'm delighted that Wonderseekers is able to host the event. Collaboration is a core value of ours and essential to us achieving our charitable reach and impact.
“Young children are often excluded from conversations that ultimately impact on their lives. Wonderseekers is on a mission to change that, believing early intervention is an essential enabler of social change, and I hope to use the event to raise awareness of this with the organisations attending.”
Other speakers include Joanne Madders, head of development at Romsey-based national charity Cranfield Trust. Further sponsors of the event are law firm Trethowans LLP and specialist insurer JM Glendinning Community Risk Solutions.
Hampshire Chamber events programme and partnerships manager Joe McDowell said: “The Bto3 Opportunity Expo and Skills Exchange is a new unique event for all Chamber members in our PEER Network. It’s for everyone’s benefit. We’ll focus on the opportunities the third sector can unlock and the skills that can be exchanged for mutual benefit across Hampshire.
“We thank both Trethowans LLP and JM Glendinning Community Risk Solutions for helping make this event as accessible as possible for our charity partners and we look forward to hearing from them on the day about the many ways they support and work constructively with those in the third sector.”
