Guildford-based BlueSky Education, the online schools management platform, has been acquired by Sheffield-headquartered National Education Group (NEG), strengthening the latter's software portfolio.

"It’s a pleasure to welcome BlueSky into the National Education Group," said Neil Gamewell, CEO of NEG.

"Their track record in the market is second to none and their achievements speak for themselves, having become the leading online platform for appraisals and people development in thousands of schools, in over 40 countries worldwide.

"Combining BlueSky’s leading appraisal platform with The National College’s CPD offering will transform the way senior leaders work, support teachers’ ongoing professional development needs and generate increased efficiencies on a day-to-day basis."

The acquisition follows the announcement last summer when NEG acquired The School Bus, enabling schools and education settings to achieve whole-school compliance via one integrated software platform.

NEG is a Synova portfolio company and was formed in 2017.

It supplies digital content and software solutions to over 44,000 education establishments, including primary, secondary, special and independent schools, academies and multi-academy trusts, nurseries and international schools.
