Nick Hurley, partner at law firm Charles Russell Speechlys in Guildford, has been appointed head of the employment, pensions and immigration (EPI) group.

In this new role, he will head up a team of over 40 lawyers from across the firm's UK and international offices, providing a premium service to clients worldwide.

Duncan Elson, partner and head of the firm's Guildford office, explained: “Nick has been a partner at Charles Russell Speechlys for over 12 years and was appointed to this prestigious role because of his track record in client servicing and leadership. Our EPI team is renowned nationwide for its expertise, having recently been named Legal 500 UK Firm of the Year 2017: Human Resources (employers and senior executives).  I have every confidence that, with Nick at the helm, we will continue to excel in this field.”

Hurley added: “I am very excited about leading the EPI Group at such a pivotal time for our practice area. With a great deal of change coming up in 2017 including big ticket issues like gender pay reporting and radical changes to the immigration rules post-Brexit referendum, it promises to be a momentous year.”
