The Institute of Directors (IoD) has appointed four new ambassadors to its Surrey team.

Dorian Isaacson, a South African-born entrepreneur, has been named innovation, entrepreneurs, and international community ambassador. He is the founder of Isaacson Ladders, active in the access to height equipment in South Africa and a supplier of ladders to 13 countries.

Vijay Luthra is the new governance and policy ambassador. He runs his own boutique consultancy and is also an IoD Expert Advisor on Diversity and Inclusion.

IoD Chartered Director Mark Walley has taken on the dual role of ambassador for education and skills and diversity and inclusion.

He was previously a volunteer director of ‘Professions for Good’ (P4G), an entity representing 1.2 million practitioners and working to uphold fair access, professional ethics, and fact-based policy among UK professions.

Ian Shackell, a chartered accountant, has been appointed professional and financial services ambassador.

Ian has worked with insurance and professional services organisations in the fields of risk management, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.  He is also an IoD Chartered Director.

The IoD Surrey leadership team also includes branch chair and Chartered Director ambassador Sue Lawrence; vice chair and communications, marketing and PR ambassador Jarmila Yu; and Michelle Tudor, professional and legal services ambassador.

Sue Lawrence said: “With the addition of these new appointees we are looking to further connect, develop and influence with, and on behalf of, our members through enhancing our initiatives, increasing our connections and creating new opportunities for IoD members in Surrey."
