Southern Manufacturing & Electronics returns to FIVE, Farnborough, on February 12 and 13, 2014. Early indications are that the event will once again see a record number of firms participating.

The 2013 event witnessed over 700 exhibitors from every branch of manufacturing and industrial technology gathered at the FIVE international exhibition site alongside Farnborough Airport in Hampshire. The continuing resurgence of UK manufacturing and the growth of the show’s popularity is likely to see that number swell to around 800 for 2014, making it considerably larger than any other manufacturing show in the UK.

Show director Phil Valentine commented: “The improving economic conditions and current capital equipment purchase tax breaks mean that many UK manufacturers are once again investing in the latest technologies and manufacturing hardware, and as a result we are seeing a tremendous surge in demand for exhibition places.”

2013 saw the launch of the Northern Manufacturing & Electronics Show to widespread acclaim. Both the Northern and Southern shows follow the same format, bringing together a unique mixture of international and regional firms in a single, easily-accessible regional venue.

Valentine commented: “With the launch of Northern Manufacturing we have established a new paradigm for industrial shows in the UK – a credible, national-scale event that comes to the visitor, rather than the other way around.” Both venues offer free onsite car parking and easy access by public transport, enabling short visits to be incorporated into a normal working day.

Some 8,500 visitors are expected to Southern Manufacturing 2014, drawn by the incredible diversity of manufacturing solutions on show. The wealth of suppliers exhibiting play a pivotal role in the supply chains to the key industrial sectors that form the backbone of the UK’s manufacturing strength, including aerospace, defence, medical, marine, autosport, energy and many more.

Among the big name exhibitors already confirmed for 2014 are Amada UK, Fronius UK, Blundell Production Equipment, Fanuc, RS Components and Yamazaki Mazak. Other perennially popular features, like the show’s two days of free technical seminars running in two lecture theatres, will likewise return for 2014.

Admission is free. To register online for tickets, or to find out about exhibiting, visit www.industrysouth.co.uk. Visitors can already begin to meet exhibitors at Southern Manufacturing 2014 by joining the show’s LinkedIn group at http://linkedin.industrysouth.co.uk
