SME manufacturing companies in the South East will be entitled to a free manufacturing review following a visit to the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) South East stand at Southern Manufacturing exhibition at FIVE in Farnborough, Hampshire on February 10-11.

The MAS South East team will be on-hand at Stand J15 to provide visitors with an opportunity to discuss the practical support available to manufacturers through MAS, including an initial free review of shopfloor processes and overall layout in order to find bottom line benefits.

MAS South East will also deliver an exciting programme of seminars at this year’s Southern Manufacturing exhibition. Seminars include ‘Building Competitive Advantage’, a unique introduction to Strategy and Planning for Manufacturers delivered by Dominic Brown and ‘Stock Reduction and Materials Management’, an insight into how manufacturers can have the right materials available at the right time without tying up precious stock, presented by Sue Talbot.

Other topics include ‘Lean Lessons’, ‘Supply Chain Improvement’, ‘Lean Design’, ‘Secrets of Low Cost Marketing’, ‘Six Sigma’ and ‘Value Stream Mapping’.

David Caddle, programme manager for MAS South East, said: “Now is the time for manufacturers in the region to take advantage of the help available through MAS South East, ensuring the future success of the industry.

“Since its inception MAS South East has delivered over £310m in added value to manufacturing businesses across the region, responded to over 20,000 initial enquiries, visited almost 3,000 businesses, arranged over 900 educational and training events and completed over 1,000 in-depth company support programmes.”

Manufacturers at the exhibitions can get information about the Lean and Green Programme from MAS South East - a programme designed to reduce cost and enhance customer value by eliminating non value adding activity surrounding the consumption of energy and water and waste sent to landfill.
