This niche employment law firm based in central Reading continues to go from strength to strength welcoming an additional two lawyers into its rapidly growing practice. The firm continues to punch above its weight providing legal advice to the likes of Blenheim Palace as well as professional sports clubs.
Jillian Sookram arrived at the firm in December 2017. Sookram has experience of advising clients on high-level and complex discrimination and whistleblowing claims as well as complex TUPE related multi-party disputes. She has extensive experience as an advocate having appeared in employment tribunals throughout England and Wales and Sookram adds weight to an already highly-experienced team of lawyers.
Following Sookram in quick succession is Emily Cox, an additional full-time qualified lawyer practising purely in the area of employment. Cox was working at a firm based in Dorset gaining experience on a broad range of employment law and litigation matters prior to arriving at the firm earlier this month. She has extensive experience of advising employers and employees on all contentious and non-contentious matters to include advice on termination agreements as well as advice on all nature of disputes including post-termination restrictions, unfair (constructive dismissal) and discrimination.
These new hires arrive at a time when DPH Legal has recently experienced success in relation to a significant case in the EAT which was reported widely in the legal press. The case was Basra v BJSS Limited UK EAT which provided a decision which impacts what evidence may be put before an employment tribunals in relation to pre-termination negotiations. A significant decision for all practitioners in this area.
Alongside all of this, the firm continues to be heavily involved in local community support strategies including its very recent sponsorship of a Reading-based football team Highmoor United.
